The St. Catharines Photographic Club arranges outings throughout the year for our members. These outings offer the members the opportunity to not only take images but interact with other photographers, exchange tips and techniques for capturing the best possible image. Events are enjoyed by all and the camaraderie experience is an added bonus.
There is a lot going on over the next week or so. If you plan to attend one of the events please let me know. Send your response to: president@stcphotoclub.ca
Tuesday Dec 3rd from 7:30-8:30 to St.Barnabus Church at 33 Queenston St, St.Catharines – They will have all the lights on for us however if you have a flash or battery operated led lights they might come in handy. Tripods are allowed. Please be aware of your surroundings when you park your car and coming in pairs maybe a good idea. We will go to Tims afterwards for a meetup. I ask that your cameras remain in their bag till you enter the Church. There are other groups meeting and they wish their privacy both in the Church and in the parking lot.
Saturday Dec 7 from 3-8: the Halton Rail Museum – Christmas on the Rails – Ride into the holiday season with us! The Halton Rail Museum is opening their doors one last time until the spring for a unique seasonal experience. There’s nothing like riding the rails on vintage streetcars through the woods with snow on the trees and Christmas carols in the air. Santa comes to visit, roams around and sometimes even drives the streetcar to the North Pole ‘cause the reindeer would hurt themselves on the railways tracks.
The streetcars, buildings and grounds are decorated for the holiday season. Rides are about 20 minutes, and there are usually up to four different ones to ride. Purchase cider, hot chocolate, coffee or cookie to enjoy as you wander around the grounds.
Weather permitting. Tickets sold at the door.
